Adirondak Chairs: My Western Washington University woodshop instructor (Fall 2001), Michael Flaherty, suggested he and I make four Adirondak chairs using a pattern he had developed. One morning he came by and picked me up. We went to Home Depot about 9:30 to buy the needed cedar (which turned out to be twice a costly as we had figured, about $70 per chair; this was due to recent tariffs imposed by Bush). We did the work at Michael's place using his table saw, band saw and radial arm saw. With time out for a long lunch at Boss Tweed Restaurant, we completed the four chairs in time to bring my two home a little after five o'clock. Nice day's work. Models are my wife Karen and our Samoyed Lulu.
