If you add the known ages at which begats occurred, you get 2111 years from Adam's beginning to Isaac's begetting of Jacob. Even if you allow the 38 remaining begats to occur as late as average age 50, then Adam's beginning is in the year 4011. Which squares pretty well with the estimate of 4004 BC made by James Ussher (1581-1656, Bishop of Armagh).

Accepting this solid proof that the earth can be no more than 6,000 years old, it follows that all assertions regarding events before that time are wrong. Q.E.D.
