Aging of
National Populations

The age-sex structure of a population is often presented as a pair of bar charts, with males on the left and females on the right, with age ascending in five-year intervals, from youngest upwards to eldest (which last category is often open-ended, as 85+).

Larger versions of these graphs were generated by the U.S. Census Bureau, where you can view them in much greater detail. These are sufficient to show the nearly universal aging of the world's national populations.

Makes you wonder about the future of rock and roll, huh?
