1127-1/2 Ferry Street, moved here from 705 Irving St., San Francisco. Upstairs apartment next to
minimart, down the alley from Maxie's tavern, 1965-70; Joe Harry spent
Christmas break there; otherwise I lived by myself. John MacGregor and
bunches of undergrads used to wake me up to play guitar there.
2525 Alder, with Bud Tipps, Spring and Summer, till I got married Oct
15, 1966. Bud had a '57 Chevy, we switched drinking locales to the
Paddock. Got a shepherd/elkhound mix we named Zorba.
2550 Harris, Karen and I lived here beginning 15 October 1966. We
added the Tiny Tavern (off this map to the far west) to our set of
watering holes, when Eunice Baxter (who lived near there) could pick us
up. Our pets were Zorba and cats Alice, Arnold, Nancy, Vivian, Wolsey, and
Angus. We left Eugene 15 June 1970 for 2100 Douglas Street, Bellingham WA.
Ferry Street house bordering the start of the mill race was where we
had our wedding reception. It was rented by five guys from the Soc program
(Bud Tipps, Cal Endo, Dave Nichols, Dave Ayala, John Westine). We gave them our
TV on condition we could come over to see the then-brand-new TV show "Star Trek".
Masonic graveyard, grave of Oregon's first governor. Our dog Zorba
used to go up there to howl in the fog, terrorizing the neighborhood.
PLC - Prince Lucien Campbell Hall, home of the Sociology Department
and our offices for most of our time in Eugene.
